Missing Europe today--Paris for the many days I spent lazy afternoons in cafés there having espresso shots, or maybe an early evening beer for peoplewatching. Italy for the pizza.
About to hit the road back to LA after a successful weekend trip to Santa Cruz filled with old friends, a sketchy party or two, and lots (and lots) of good food. In preparation for our obligatory stop at In-n-Out at a dusty rest stop on the 5 and the hours of driving I have ahead of me, I'm drawing inspiration from good leather jackets, cuffed sleeves, and, as always, stripes.
Obviously I'm inspired today by the simple things, this outfit is blowing my mind. Texture, black, beige, camel, white, slicked back hair. Why didn't I think of that?
So into these illustrations by artist Inslee Hanes. Not only are the outfits she draws all incredible and envy-inspiring, but I love the bright colors she uses and the way the watercolor adds the perfect dose of whimsy.
Oh man I keep saying how excited I am for fall and then I remember outfits like this that are so summery and chic I can barely handle it. I wish I could rock a center part that well...
End of the summer and yet I still love editorials like this. I barely went to the beach at all since I was in France for the majority of my time off school (not like I'm complaining...), I just have to make sure to make a trip there at least once before school starts again.
I'm officially ready for fall (which in California still=shorts, just with bigger sweaters). I got a super crazy awesome jacket the other day, and last night I bought a pair of Jeffrey Campbell boots that I've been lusting after for a while. I can't wear any of it if it stays this hot outside, so crispy leaves and wind and pink cheeks, I'm ready for you!
Took that first picture today of my sister's (check out her tumblr here if you're interested!) luscious hair--I have long hair too but not like that! I'm seriously impressed and striving for her level of shiny goodness.
How awesome are these variations on a theme? Stripes AND navy blue combined is a number one favorite of mine for any type of garment, and I love the subtle addition of gold as well. Perfect for the end of the summer.
3 looks I've been inspired by for a while now. Super bright colors (if you can't already tell from my last few posts), sheer things, and NAVY BLUE. My favorite color.
Not sure what it is with me and bright colors today. I always love photos of two things that you wouldn't really think of as related but when you see them next to each other it's like a shock that you didn't notice it yourself.
I don't think this was even taken in california, but the bright colors and her vibe in general are the perfect reflection of how good it feels to be home.
Pretty girls in cool girl labels, a young and handsome yves saint laurent, white on white on white, the bag I will never stop obsessing over, and holding on to the end of summer. I'm finally back into the swing of things, but also bleary eyed and in need of sleep. It feels good to be back!
I'm back in the country! It feels so crazy and weird and I'm having reverse culture shock, but at the same time it's good to be back. Still adjusting! Part of my return involves catching up on tv and bloglovin, so forgive me if I'm posting editorials that came out a couple months ago. It's that time of summer now where school is sneaking up but the relaxation isn't quite over yet, and I'm taking full advantage of that.
I don't know how you guys feel about it, but I stillll can't seem to get over the monochrome look. Especially when it's styled like this! I need to get a bra like that asap.
Naked Abbey Lee and potted drawn plants. Perfect for my vibe lately. I spent the night having the best tiramisu of my life and drinking a bottle of wine with my boyfriend on the grand canal of Venice, and it couldn't have been more perfect! I'm excited to be home to regularity, but also don't want to rush the rest of what Italy has in store for us.:)
Blogging from Rome, and with the first sign of fast internet I've had in two months, I've been using my downtime to get back into the swing of things as far as the internet is concerned. I have an absurd amount of unread posts on bloglovin and as the people who have stuck around as readers of pepper+chips during this dryspell will know, it's been a bit dead around here lately. I feel a windfall of newness coming on for p+c, and if there's anything you want to see let me know!
