It feels like summer! The world seems to have suddenly warmed up, I've got hikes and bikes and beaches on my mind. Probably wouldn't actually show up to the beach in any of these ensembles, but in love with this editorial regardless...
I wasn't fully into the flared jeans look, until now. I still don't think I could ever wear them and pull them off, but I think I have a growing appreciation. And also, I wouldn't mind some simple plants and lanterns to hang around my abode. Maybe one day I will live surrounded by lanterns and will wear flares. I'll keep you posted!
There's something about these two sets of images matched up that I really like. I guess the same goes for everything I post here, but I'm always trying to get a creative with the things I post in case you've seen them before. Anyway, spring is officially in the air, I'm wearing shorts (and my legs are so pale ahh! Need to take care of that) and eating fruit. Things could definitely be worse.
I know, I know. The name Arizona has become just as (if not more) ubiquitous than the name Bambi when she first started becoming an 'it' girl on the blogs. I really think though, that Arizona's impact will be far longer lasting in fashion than that of Bambi. Arizona morphs, and creates a fantasy. Her eyes take you somewhere besides a 2-dimensional page or computer screen. I know we'll be seeing her for a long while, and I'm glad I'm around to watch her career take off.
Not sure if you guys remember, but I interviewed Wendy from Hand it Over a while back for my blogger interview series. I obviously kept reading after that, and lately I've been loving her portraits and style that she's been posting on her blog. Reminds me of the way I dress. Click here to check out her blog!
Taking this as my back to school inspiration since I'm going back to class today. My break was wonderful but I guess it'll be good to start learning again and feel a little more purposeful. Planning on wearing simple and easy (how many times have you heard me say that?) looks alllll spring.
It's raining, a day for big t-shirts, hangover food, warm blankets, and sweet coffee. I'm heading back up to Northern California today, after an amaaaazing week at home, Southern California treats me so well and going back to school is bittersweet, but in a way I'm excited to go back to the school routine. It's just gonna be hard to stay disciplined now that the winter hibernation is officially over.
I'm in love with the way this editorial uses one color and a style that I don't usually like at all (that being camouflage). Don't get me wrong I love me some army green but I don't usually incorporate it into my wardrobe in this way, or with crazy colors, or tied backwards. Editorials like these remind me of my love for great styling.
I'm just gonna pretend I'm on a first name/nickname basis with Susie Lau. I think at first I had a hard time 'getting' her style, but now I see her as one of the freshest and constantly innovative people in fashion right now.
Today, I am: eating Persian food, changing my appearance a little (post to come), wearing black white and grey, and indulging in reading for pleasure for the first time in a while. Sometimes it's nice to take a little time off from the internet and hold a book in your hands. This editorial is exactly the way I want to be dressing right now.
Marc Jacobs has come a really long way since I first started following fashion. I thought this post would be a nice way to pay homage to that, and to recognize one of my favorite men in fashion. I think this is such a great portrait of him.
I know these were circulating around for a while, and for some reason I never posted them. However, it's usually a sign that I should post something when I keep coming back to it for inspiration so while I'm a little late, I'm posting them now. The flaxen blond hair and the uniform colors of the outfits--it's all got me thinking of new things to try for spring.
Clearly I'm in love with Signe. And lately, I've also been loving Stevie Dance soo much, along with some sort of crazy off-red and slightly orange lip. My fascinations and obsessions change pretty frequently, but for today, these are it. Also, I've reached 666 followers (which is amazing!) but the slightly superstitious part of me doesn't want to jinx anything, so if there are people out there reading pepper and chips, click the button below to do so now! You guys are the best.
High school was a few years ago for me now (I graduated in '08), but I still look back on it fondly. Sure it's awkward and weird and boys and bodies and all that stuff, but there's also something so whimsical and naive about that time of my life. I had a uniform that I wore everyday and I loved it, but I tiny sliver of me wishes I could have walked around in lettermans jackets, cheeky sweaters, and slightly offbeat dresses.
