Flower Girl

After seeing the same sh*t over and over again sometimes reading the blogs can be a little...tedious. Props to Laura over at Ponyhunter for doing something original and cute. Everyone should follow!

Kate

I'm totally in love with the way the ladies over at Into the Gloss photographed their copy of the new Kate Moss book--I don't have a copy (yet), but it is suchhh a necessary purchase. I've kind of sworn off spending money on material goods until the end of Jan...but this is making that a big harder!

I've expressed my love for Maria and her blog Vanilla Scented many times, but just a reminder...if you don't follow her--get on that! Boatloads of minimalist Scandinavian inspiration.

Not sure if you guys remember, but I interviewed Wendy from Hand it Over a while back for my blogger interview series. I obviously kept reading after that, and lately I've been loving her portraits and style that she's been posting on her blog. Reminds me of the way I dress.

My trip back home is so close, yet so far. A week from tomorrow I'll be there, but the week ahead is going to be a busy one. Currently trying to relieve stress by wearing a turquoise ribbon in my hair and looking at these wildfox watercolors. Makes me want to go paint and get out of the library!

I was thinking about how I never wear red today, but I saw this picture and remembered I have a similar coat that's a little different from the one here, but not much. Makes me want to pull it out and try to match the fall leaves!

The Blogger Interviews #1

Hi everyone, it's about time I announce this little mini-project that I've been working on putting together. While bloggers update on almost a daily basis nowadays, sometimes I feel like there's some things they're not talking about because the blogs I read are fashion related! SO, I decided to interview a few bloggers to get to know some other secrets. First up is Wendy Chak from Hand It Over (check it out HERE!). She's adorable, hilarious, and is one of the only bloggers I know who posts editorial pictures with her outfit posts, which gives her readers a little bit of both ends of the spectrum. I asked her a few things I had been wondering about, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

1)What was your favorite outfit as a kid?
I recently discovered three albums with photos of me as a kid. And I must admit that I was a pretty rad little girl. I think I wore a floral white babydoll dress with kickass red mary janes.

2)What inspires you?
I used to be really caught up in following runway shows and seasonal trends, but I've slowly shied away from those. Now I just love looking at streetstyle blogs for real outfits that real people where on a daily basis. Of course I love my share of magazine editorials... French Vogue is bomb.

3) Which blogger would you like to trade wardrobes with for a day?

I am a sucker for good shoes so definitely Jane from Sea of Shoes. Actually, I'd even be satisfied if I could have one pair of shoes out of her grand collection!

4) What’s the best advice anyones ever given you?
Sometimes I feel like blogging takes over my life- with the commitment and expectations. Like a little child, I ranted to my friend Sophie. And she tells me to leave it alone and come back to it when I miss it. That's when I'll know if I love it or not. Can't say the same about clothes though because it might be too late when you finally come back to buy it.

5) Where’s your favorite place to be in the world?
I love where I live because San Francisco is truly a gem of a city. But my favorite place to be would be in Paris, at a small cafe with a cute book in hand and a steaming cup of coffee.

6) Name 3 of your favorite smells?

I'm not too into scents but I must say that I adore guys who smell nice. I think the aroma of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies is delightful. And the scent of tangerines as well as clean laundry.

7) What’s your favorite collection of all time?
This question is really difficult. Can I name a few? Well I really liked Balmain Fall 2009, Philip Lim Summer 2009, and Givenchy Fall 2008.

8) What’s one crazy trend that you want to try to experiment with?
I want to experiment with denim overalls. I know overalls aren't exactly trendy at the moment but at least denim is right?

9) Whats your favorite thing to eat and your favorite restaurant?
I love food. I love eating unagi rolls with avocado. And my favorite restaurant is actually this little tacqueria in the Mission called Cancun. I go there almost once every two weeks.

10) List your top 5 movies.
Lives of Others, English Patient, V for Vendetta, Pan's Labyrinth, Amelie

11) What are some of your best shopping tips?
Go thrifting because its so much cheaper than going to places like Forever 21 or H&M. Plus the items you find are usually more unique and each piece has some sort of history.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

12) What’s one thing you haven’t done that you would like to do before you die?
I want to have a backpacking trip down in South America for a month. I really love traveling.

Pepper and Chips Sale!

I've created a Shop Pepper and Chips store! I have a lot of closet cleaning to do, and I figured my clothes would be more appreciated by you guys than the randoms on ebay.
My pepper and chips store can be found at shoppepperandchips.blogspot.com Go check it out!

I decided within the last couple of days that I small amount of closet editing needed to be done. SO, I picked out some things from my closet that I love but think deserve a better home (and I am broke and need mulah!), and am posting them here (also e-mail me if you want more photos! I have plenty). E-mail me at pepperandchips@gmail.com if you are interested in an item, and you can make a payment through paypal to my paypal e-mail, which I'll disclose once I've heard from you. I figured I could list these items on my blog for a day or two and whatever doesn't sell can go on ebay! You guys are priority :)
So anyway, here's what's up for grabs(everything is 5 dollar shipping!):
American Apparel Raglan Pullover in Light Blue Size M

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

$12. Gently loved.

SOLD! Urban Outfitters beaded vest size Large
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

$20. Originally retailed for over $70. Has beautiful beading although a few of the beads have fallen off. It drapes perfectly over anything!

Vintage 40s women's jacket

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

$30. I bought this a couple of weeks ago at a thrift store in santa cruz, CA, and for some reason I haven't worn it yet. It is by no means new, according to the guy who works in the shop it's from the late 30s or early 40s and has those strong shoulders that are so in right now, AAAND feminine pink lining.

Ralph Lauren Sport blue and white striped tee, XL

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

$5. Call me out for the wrinkled look, but I actually like it that way. This shirt must have been made by RL for little girls or something because it's an XL and fits me quite well, and I'm a medium. It's the perfect stripey t-shirt and I'm only selling it because I have too many already, ha.

Vintage Cream Oversized Sweater with Gold Buttons, fits any size

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

$10. This was an impulse buy, because I don't have any oversized sweaters and I love that look! This one caught my eye because of the gold buttons and the perfect pockets in the front. It's warm and will literally fit anyone, but if sized would probably be sized to a Large.

Nordstroms forest green overcoat size L

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

$20. This beautiful green coat was given to me as a gift, and doesn't fit and I am soooo sad about it! It's got beautiful green buttons and a cozy inside that absolutely serves its purpose of keeping you warm while at the same time serving its fashionable purpose of making you look super cute all the time. It measures 34.5" from the shoulder to the bottom, 18" from armpit to armpit (bust), and 25.5" from armpit to the bottom.
All of these measurements were taken while the garment was lying flat!

That's it! So e-mail me if you are interested and I will give you the rest of the information you need!
